Staff-Led Account Opening gives your institution the ability to effortlessly open accounts for consumer applicants who come into your bank or credit union branch. Through a streamlined experience that enables high-touch interactions, your institution can capitalize on the growing opportunity to capture deposits in person, optimize efficiency, and foster trust. Real-time identity decisioning is presented within the process, eliminating the need to navigate between multiple tools.

The Staff-Led Account Opening flow is comprised of four main steps:

  1. Basic Information

  2. Pre-KYC/KYB

  3. KYC

  4. Post-KYC/KYB

Upon starting an application, the email address of the staff member who started the application is recorded in the Application history section of the application view. Also, the branch and the name of the staff member who started or converted the application are recorded in the Staff user details section of the application view. Staff member names and emails are pulled from the user profile in Narmi Command, and the email address is associated with the email used for login. If a different staff member completes the application, their name is not displayed in the application history timeline or staff user details. However, it can be manually added to Notes in the pre-KYC or post-KYC steps.

Staff-Led Permissions

There are two permissions for Staff-Led Account Opening, which you can add to roles from Narmi Command under Staff members > Roles:

  • Can view staffer led applications via staff portal – With this role, a staff user can view applications from the  Consumer staff-led or Business staff-led tabs in Narmi Command but cannot create or continue a staff-led application. 

  • Can create and edit staffer led applications via staff portal – With this role, a staff user can create a new staff-led application (via New application in the Consumer staff-led or Business staff-led tabs) or continue a staff-led application (via Finish application in the application view.)

Without either of the above permissions, a staff user cannot see the Consumer staff-led or Business staff-led tabs in Narmi Command. 

Your institution can segment your staff users if you want some users to have access to Consumer Account Opening only, some to have access to Staff-Led only, or some to have access to both. For information on segmentation, contact your Narmi Relationship Manager.

Tracking Staff-Led Applications

To track applications submitted via Staff-Led Account Opening, generate a report from Narmi Command. To do this, from the Narmi Command sidebar, select Reports. On the page that appears, find Staff-led business account applications or  Staff-led consumer account applications. Select the download icon on the right to download the report in a *.CSV file.
