Link Another Profile

Prev Next

By linking another profile, users can seamlessly switch between multiple accounts without having to log out. This feature is convenient for owners of multiple businesses, a business user with different sub-accounts, or a user with multiple consumer and business accounts. This option can be enabled by contacting your Narmi Implementation Manager.

The Link another profile option is only available if your institution has two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, AND only when the user selects Remember this device upon verifying their identity at log in.

  2. Select the profile to log in as. Depending on the time since your last login and your "Remember this device" settings, you may need to enter your password or use 2FA/MFA when switching between linked profiles, as specified below in Password/2FA Requirements When Switching Profiles.

Password/2FA Requirements When Switching Profiles

We use two main factors to determine if you need to enter your password or use 2FA/MFA when switching between linked profiles: the time since your last login and your "Remember this device" settings.

When Switching Profiles on the Web App

  • You'll be prompted for both your password and 2FA:

    • If more than 15 minutes have passed since your last login, and you did not select "Remember this device"

      OR

    • If more than 15 minutes have passed since your last login, and it's been more than 90 days since you last selected "Remember this device"

  • You'll be prompted for your password only:

    • If more than 15 minutes have passed since your last login, but you selected "Remember this device" within the last 90 days

  • No password or 2FA is required:

    • If it's been less than 15 minutes since your last login and it's been less than 90 days since you selected "Remember this device"

When Switching Profiles on the Mobile App

  • No password or 2FA is required if you have biometrics (like Face ID or fingerprint) enabled on your device.

  • A password is required if you don't have biometrics enabled.

  • Both a password and 2FA may be required if you don't have biometrics enabled, and it has been a certain number of days since your last login. The specific time frame for this can vary.

Troubleshooting Unlinked Profiles

If a user does not see their linked profile(s) upon logging in to Digital Banking, it may be due to one of the following scenarios:

  • Selecting “Forget this device” – If a user selects Forget this device from the name menu, their linked profiles will be unlinked. For more information, go to Forget This Device and Logout
Dropdown menu showing options including 'Forget this device' for account settings.

  • Logging in without selecting "Remember this device" – If a user does not select Remember this device on the "Let's verify your account" page, their linked profiles will be unlinked.

  • Using Incognito Mode – Incognito mode, also known as private browsing mode, is a feature available in most web browsers that allows users to browse the Internet without storing browsing history, cookies, or other data on the device. If a user accesses Digital Banking in Incognito Mode, their linked profiles will not appear in the name menu.

  • Deleting cookies – Cookies contain information such as login credentials, preferences, and browsing activity. Deleting them removes personalized website settings such as linked profiles.
