Customer segmentation is dividing a large and diverse customer base into smaller groups of related customers that are similar in specific ways and relevant to the marketing of a bank’s products and services.
During the implementation process, we map Ensenta's segments in Narmi Banking. This allows Narmi to align Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) limits with Narmi-related functionality (ACH limits, functionality, etc.).
Ensenta’s base RDC product includes three segments (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), also known as “Deposit Policy Groups,” with default dollar amounts and transaction limits on the Set-Up Form. However, financial institutions may have over three segments (see Managing Ensenta Segments).
Initial Segment Setup
During a Narmi Banking implementation, financial institutions design their segmentation framework and assign end-users into segments. Each segment may have different RDC limits and permissions. This process is separate from the Ensenta setup, but values in Narmi's segmentation mapping can be the same as Ensenta default values for each segment.
The segmentation fields related to RDC are listed below:
Narmi RDC segment names - also known as `AttributeValues`
Daily dollar amount and number of transaction limits
The monthly dollar amount and number of transaction limits
Max transaction amount
If real-time posting is turned on:
Dollar amount immediately available
Immediate availability period
A default segment (one out of all defined segments)
Your Narmi Implementations Project Manager and/or General Manager will work with you to develop these segments and communicate the structure to Ensenta. Ensenta will then install the segments into their system and dictate the RDC permissions in the Narmi platform.
Managing Ensenta Segments
Once the Ensenta platform is delivered, financial institutions can use the Limit Dashboard in EZAdmin to update dollar amounts and transaction limits as needed.
Note: Only limits can be changed in EZAdmin. Renaming, adding, or removing segments can only be changed by an Ensenta representative and should be coordinated through your Narmi Relationship Manager.
If a financial institution would like more than three segments, a Customer Service Order (CSO) must be completed, and adding new segments will result in an additional charge from Ensenta. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager or Implementations Project Manager for additional information.
Managing Individual Limits
Financial institutions can add individual limits for specific users within EZAdmin’s Policies and Limits Dashboard.
Any individual limits on a user will override the limits defined by the Narmi segment that the user is in.
The process is as follows:
Select the Account Holder Limits tab.
Ensure the Mask Account drop-down is set to "No."
Enter the User Account Holder number, the desired limit, and the limit period.
Select Save.
