Branded Debit Cards

Your institution can extend your marketing strategy to new account holders with branded debit cards. Applicants can select a debit card design on the Preferences page of Consumer Account Opening. This feature is currently supported for institutions on the Symitar and DNA cores only. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager to enable the branded cards feature. Additionally, contact us if you want to use this feature but are not on one of the supported cores.

Note: You must have at least two card designs to use this feature.

To set up branded cards:

  1. After Narmi has enabled branded cards for your institution, you must activate this feature for your desired product(s). To do this, go to Narmi Command and select Configurations > Institution settings > Product List. For each product where you want to offer branded cards, locate the offer_branded_cards checkbox and set it to true.

  2. Next, upload two card images. From the Narmi Command sidebar, select Account opening > Product list manager.

  3. Select Add a new product to create a new product or find the product you would like to edit, select the three dots on the product card, and select Edit.

  4. Select Debit card for What product offerings do you want to support?

    Options for preferences include debit card and overdraft opt-in selections.

  5. Select Yes for Do you want to offer custom debit cards? Then select Upload images.

  6. In the dialog that appears, enter the following information:

    • Card name – The name that shows in the application’s Review page

    • Issue code – This is a core-specific field that indicates the specific branded card type being offered and, thus, selected. Note: This field may not be required depending on your institution’s core and internal protocols.


    Upload your custom card image. The image must be 224px x 142 px. Supported image formats are *.JPEG, *.JPG, and *.PNG.

    Select Save.

  7. You must add at least two card images. Select Upload images and repeat step 5.

  8. Finish adding the rest of your product information. Go to Product Details and Settings for information on all available fields. Once you are done entering information, select Save Changes.

    IMPORTANT: If this is a new product, you must activate the product to publish it to your applicants. On the product card, select the three dots, then select Activate. Select Yes, activate on the confirmation message that appears.

Selecting a Debit Card

Applicants can select a debit card design from the Preferences page of Consumer Account Opening. Enable the Debit card toggle, pick a design, and select Next to continue the flow.

The chosen card name displays as the “Card selection” in the Preferences section of the application’s Review page.
