In the Security tab of Settings, users can set up custom alerts, view security alerts, or configure two-factor authentication. To access Security, from the name menu, select Settings, then select the Security tab.

Transaction & Balance Alerts

In the Transaction & Balance Alerts section, users can create an email or text alert based on specific account conditions, such as account balances or transactions. For security, account numbers are masked in transaction and balance alert emails and text messages.

To view the transaction alerts for all your Digital Banking users, view the Transaction Alerts report in Narmi Command under Reports > Transaction Alerts > Download.

Note: By default, these transaction alerts only apply to posted transactions, not pending transactions. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager if you would like to enable these alerts for pending transactions. Once enabled, alerts include the status of the transaction as “Pending” or “Posted.”

To create a new alert:

  1. Select New Alert.

  2. On the page that appears, enter the following information:

    • Alert Type – Choose to receive an email or text as the alert format. Text alerts display in the following format:

      [INSTITUTION NAME] Alert: [TRANSACTION DESCRIPTION] for [TRANSACTION AMOUNT].

    • Account – Choose a specific account that the alert should apply to, or for alerts about all accounts, leave Account blank. 

    • Transaction Keywords – Enter a keyword to get an alert for posted transactions that include that word. If tags were added to specific transactions, you can add an alert for those tags by entering them as keywords. For more information, go to Transaction Details.

    • Amount – Enter an amount or balance range for the alert. For alerts about any amount or balance, leave Amount or Resulting Balance blank.

  3. Select Save to finish.

The new alert appears under Active alerts. Select Remove to delete the alert.

Security Alerts

In this section, view the conditions for receiving security-related email notifications. These cannot be disabled. 

When a user changes their password, they also receive a text alert if they have a valid phone number associated with their account and a push notification if they have push notifications enabled on their device. The change password text alert displays in the following format:

Alert: Your [INSTITUTION NAME] password has been updated. If you didn't initiate this change, please contact us immediately at [PHONE].

Two-factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication is an extra layer of security where a trusted device is used to ensure that only you are accessing your account, even if someone else knows your password. For more information on this setting, including using recovery codes, go to Two-factor Authentication.

Dual Approvals (Business Banking Only)

For businesses, Dual Approvals is a control that requires two separate people to authorize a wire transfer. Org Account Holders, or Org users with Admin permissions to turn on dual approvals for their org, can enable Dual Approvals by selecting this option in Security.
