Narmi Account Opening (AO) ACH Service
The information in this article is only relevant if your financial institution utilizes Authorize.net for ACH Account Opening funding. Narmi AO ACH Service was introduced in release 2024.4 for our Consumer Account Opening and Business Account Opening products. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager for more information regarding Narmi AO ACH Service.
Narmi enforces limits in the user-facing application, but limits are also enforced and controllable on the back end in the Authorize.net Portal.
ACH Limits are viewable by clicking Account > Merchant Profile > “Risk Reserve”. Once you click “Risk Reserve”, the full risk profile of your account is displayed. This includes:
- Fund Holding Days – the number of days Authorize.net will hold ACH funds
- Monthly Volume Limit
- Maximum Transaction Size – largest one-time ACH deposit possible by an applicant
- Reserve Method – not relevant to every financial institution. A risk reserve may be instituted if your financial institution experiences a higher than normal return rate. This risk reserve can be fixed or rolling, and is not technically a fee. This is covered in detail later in this manual.
- Reserve Rate / Reserve Holding Days / Reserve Balance – additional information relevant to the risk reserve (if applicable)
Business Limits
Note that max funding limits and volumes should be higher for business account funding opposed to consumers since we expect higher volumes and amounts for businesses. However, each FI and business is different and ultimately, the decision remains with the FI to set limits within their comfort zone.
