Narmi Account Opening (AO) ACH Service
The information in this article is only relevant if your financial institution utilizes Authorize.net for ACH Account Opening funding. Narmi AO ACH Service was introduced in release 2024.4 for our Consumer Account Opening and Business Account Opening products. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager for more information regarding Narmi AO ACH Service.
Managing ACH returns is an important aspect of the funding process. First, to find returns, please take the following steps:
- Navigate to Reports --> Returns
- Choose how you want to search (Returns by Settlement Date, Batch Date or Transaction ID). Note you will most likely want to search returns by Settlement Date.
- For Returns by Settlement Date, choose Settled or Unsettled. If Settled, choose a date or date range and click Run Report.
- For Returns by Batch Date, choose a date or date range and click Run Report. You can also enter transaction information that will narrow the search fields.
- For Returns by Transaction ID, enter the Transaction ID and click Run Report.
A sample return report will look like the following:
The most important aspects of this report are:
- Reason for return
- Return date
- Returned Amount (usually equal to Submit Amount)
- Original Settlement Batch
Given this account has been opened on the core, the financial institution will want to take prompt action to withdraw the returned amount from the account(s).
If Authorize.net already sent the funds to the financial institution, the returned amount will be deducted from a future eCheck deposit. This can be reviewed in the eCheck.Net Settlement Statement.
