Narmi Guard Transaction Monitoring integrates Narmi Banking with Alloy to monitor transactions and automatically identify those that pose a high risk. Once your institution enables Transaction Monitoring, all ACH transfers, ACH payments, and wire transactions are processed through your institution's customizable Alloy Workflow, and the Alloy Outcomes are displayed in Narmi Command. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager to get started with Narmi Guard Transaction Monitoring.
The following pre-defined Outcomes are supported for ACH and wire Transaction Monitoring:
Accepted – The transaction enters “Pending” status
Review – The transaction enters “Review” status
Declined – The transaction enters “Declined” status
The following sections outline the process for reviewing ACH transfers, ACH payments, and wires that have been assigned to the “Review” status.
Review ACH Transfers and ACH Payments
From the Narmi Command sidebar, select Transactions > ACH manager > Transfers or Payments.
The page that appears opens to a Review tab, which shows your ACH transactions in review.
Each transaction row displays the following information:User – Name of the user initiating the transaction
Created – Date the transaction was created
Account Number – The destination account that funds are moving to
Amount – Transaction amount
Select a transaction row to open a side panel with details. A banner at the top shows the Alloy Outcome Reason. Select View details to open a dialog box displaying all Outcome Reasons and Tags.
Your institution defines the Outcome Reasons and Tags used for Transaction Monitoring, so we do not provide a set list of these. Select View in Alloy to log in to Alloy and open the detailed evaluation, which includes the user's full profile and risk level.
For transfers, from the transaction detail, select Approve or Reject. If rejecting, select Yes, reject on the confirmation message to confirm. Note: Only staff users with the permission “Can change ach transaction” have the Reject option. Staff users with the permission “Can view ach transaction” do not have the Reject option.
For payments, select the three dots menu and Approve payment or Reject payment. If rejecting, select Yes, reject on the confirmation message to confirm. Note: Only staff users with the permission “Can change ach transaction” have the Reject option. Staff users with the permission “Can view ach transaction” do not have the Reject option.
If approved, the transaction moves to the Pending tab. If rejected, the transaction is moved to the Rejected tab, and the user receives an email notification that includes information about the transaction (the email template is not configurable by your institution). For rejected transactions, your institution is responsible for reversing the transaction and removing any holds from the core.
The complete lifetime of the transaction, including when it was approved/rejected and processed, displays in the Transaction history section of the transaction detail (shown above).
Note: If you try to approve a transaction while the NACHA file is actively processing, an error message instructs you to try again later.
