FedNow Transaction Monitoring

Prev Next

Narmi Guard Transaction Monitoring integrates Narmi Banking with Alloy to monitor transactions and automatically identify those that pose a high risk. Once your institution enables Transaction Monitoring, all FedNow send transactions (not received transactions) are processed through your institution's customizable Alloy Workflow, and the Alloy Outcomes are displayed in Narmi Command. Staff can choose to override a declined payment, which will post the payment without sending it through transaction monitoring. Please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager to get started with Narmi Guard Transaction Monitoring.

The following pre-defined Outcomes are supported for FedNow Transaction Monitoring:

  • Accepted  – The payment passed transaction monitoring and will be posted and sent via the FedNow service.

  • Declined – The payment did not pass transaction monitoring and will not be posted.

When accepted, the sender will receive a success message on the payment receipt page.

When declined, the sender will receive a rejection message on the payment receipt page. The message does not specify that it is for fraud prevention reasons.

Staff members can view declined payments in Narmi Command and choose to override them, which will post the payment without sending it through transaction monitoring.
