A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is any type of challenge-response test used to distinguish between human users and automated bots to prevent spam and protect website resources. Forms of CAPTCHA include image recognition (e.g., selecting all images with a certain object), audio challenges, or simple math problems. The main goal is to present a task that is easy for humans but difficult for machines.
Narmi Grow uses reCAPTCHA by Google, which employs advanced risk analysis techniques to detect fraud. In the Consumer Account Opening and Business Account Opening flows, your institution can opt to include a CAPTCHA box for human verification at the bottom of the Your info page.
Enabling CAPTCHA
You can enable or disable this CAPTCHA for either Consumer Account Opening and/or Business Account Opening. In Narmi Command, go to Configurations > Institution settings > Ask Additional Fields > Consumer Account Opening tab or Business Account Opening tab > turn the CAPTCHA toggle on or off.
CAPTCHA Logic
The CAPTCHA behavior is controlled through reCAPTCHA by Google, and the logic works as follows:
The I'm not a robot checkbox appears immediately when the page loads.
The image challenge (e.g., "Select all squares with traffic lights") only appears after the user selects the I'm not a robot checkbox, and only if Google determines there's a need for further verification based on user behavior or risk factors. Google determines that the user may not be human based on heuristics (e.g., suspicious IP addresses, unusual mouse movements, bots, lack of cookies, incognito mode, etc.).
If Google deems the interaction trustworthy, the user will be verified by selecting the I'm not a robot checkbox, and no image challenge will be displayed.
