An Apple Distribution Certificate is a digital certificate issued by Apple that allows developers to distribute their apps on the Apple App Store. It's a crucial part of the app development process for iOS devices. The certificate verifies that you, as a developer, are authorized to submit apps to the App Store.
Note: Apple only allows three iOS Distribution Certificates at a time. If your institution has iOS apps that are not managed by Narmi, you must reserve at least one Distribution Certificate for Narmi.
Apple Distribution Certificates have an expiration date that is typically one year from when they are created. Narmi handles the regeneration of Distribution Certificates for Narmi apps. This may involve revoking and recreating the certificate, which is done by Narmi. Your institution may receive an email reminder that the certificate is expiring, similar to the image below, but no action is required. If you have questions, please contact support@narmi.com.
There may be instances when Narmi must revoke a certificate. For example, when our automated processes create a certificate but don't register it, or if the organization limit is reached, we may need to delete a certificate that is expiring soon to create a new one.
