On the account page, users can see their available balance and current balance. By default, balances for accounts with at least one deposit account (e.g. checking, savings, money market, and CDs) update every 7 days. If a user has not logged in within the last 7 days, we automatically update their balances for a record on our database to ensure consistent deposit balance data. If you would like to adjust this update frequency to fit your institution’s preferences, please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager.
Note: If a user has at least one deposit account, all their account balances (including credit accounts) will be updated. For example, if a user has a checking account and a loan, balances for both accounts will be updated every 7 days. If a user only has a loan account, the balance will not be updated. The number of calls to the core varies depending on the core.
Available Balance
The available balance is the amount that is immediately available to use, including any temporary holds or pending transactions on the account. Because it represents the amount available, this value cannot be negative.
On the web app, the account's available balance is on the upper right of the web account page.
On the mobile app, the available balance is displayed to the right of each account on the home screen or the My accounts page.
Current Balance
The current balance is the total amount of funds in the account, not including temporary holds or pending transactions. Unlike the available balance, the current balance can be negative.
Select the info icon next to "Available balance" to see the current balance.
On the mobile app, select an account and then select the info icon.
A dialog appears showing both balances.
