Create a new persona to deliver personalized Consumer Account Opening products to your applicants. Any applicants who fit the persona criteria or go to the URL you provide them will see personalized products in the "Choose your accounts" page of the Consumer Account Opening flow.
To create a new persona:
From Narmi Command, select Account opening > Personas > New persona.
On the page that appears, there are four sections to complete in any order.
Persona details
Enter the following information to identify the persona:
Persona name – Internal name of the persona; this is used to create the URL you may generate
Description – Internal description of the persona; this is not shown to customers
Generate URL – Select whether you would like to generate a URL to send to customers, Yes or No. All applicants who use the URL will see the persona-specific products even if they don't fit the user type criteria (specified below).
User type
Configure which users will see the recommended products.
Note: User type does not apply to the generated URL. All applicants who use the URL will see the persona-specific products even if they don't fit the user type criteria.
Under User type, select whether you would like to specify an age range or specific location for the persona, either Yes or No.
If you select Yes for User type, the following options appear:
Applicant targeting – Select which applicants on joint applications must match the user type criteria to see the persona-specific products: All applicants, The primary applicant, or Any applicant. For example, your persona offers a special checking product to users in Ohio. If you select All applicants, the address for both the primary and joint must be in Ohio for the applicant to see the special checking product. If you select The primary applicant, the address for only the primary must be in Ohio for the applicant to see the special checking product. If you select Any applicant, the address for either the primary or the joint must be in Ohio for the applicant to see the special checking product.
Age – Use the sliders to set the age range for the persona.
Location – Select the State, City, or ZIP Code for the persona. Enter the appropriate state, city, or ZIP Code text in the box provided and select the return/enter key on your keyboard to accept.
“OR” Logic for Age and Location
The age and location criteria use "OR" logic. If you enter both an age parameter and a location parameter in the same persona, applicants who fit one or the other will see the persona-specific products. For example, if your persona's age is 13-18 and the location is New York State, it will apply to applicants age 13-18 OR applicants in New York State. Additionally, an applicant who is 56 and lives in New York State will see the persona-specific product because they fit one of the parameters (location).
Product selection
Choose Select accounts to pick the products this persona will offer.
In the side panel that appears, check the boxes next to the product(s) you'd like to offer and select Save selection.
Note: For credit unions, you must select the required share you would like opened for a new member here. For existing members, if the required share only needs to be opened once and has already been opened for that existing member, that required share will be hidden from the existing member, and the other products selected will display.
Answer the following additional questions that appear:
Pre-selection: Do you want to pre-select these products for users? – Select Yes if you would like to have these products pre-selected (with a checkmark) for users in the Account Opening flow. Select No to not have products pre-selected.

Application metadata
Enter optional metadata you would like to be associated with the persona. The application metadata displays in the Metadata section of the Application View in Narmi Command and the metadata column of the Consumer Account Applications report. This way, your institution can track metadata related to a specific persona, such as a specific account type for youth applicants. We currently only support writing the application metadata for Personas to the Symitar core and for specific keys on the Corelation core. If you want this functionality written to a core that is not currently supported, please contact your Narmi Relationship Manager.
The metadata must be entered in the following JSON format, where the key is the type of metadata being recorded and the value is the specific information assigned to that key:
{"key": "value"}
For example, if you wanted youth accounts to be flagged as account type “12”, enter
{"account_type":"12"}
, where the key is"account_type"
and the value is"12"
.When entering JSON values:
Always use double quotes
""
around keys and valuesUse a comma
,
to separate multiple key-value pairs, e.g.{"account_type": "12", "customer_persona": "Youth Applicant"}
Do not add a comma after the last key-value pair
Next, add the metadata key to Configurations > Institution settings > Allowed URL Parameters. Select Add item and enter the key in the text field, for example,
account_type
.Select Save. A confirmation message appears and your new persona is immediately active. Copy the persona URL using the copy icon. For information on editing personas, go to Manage Personas.
